About Lisa Liddiard

Hi, I’m Lisa Liddiard and I welcome you to my Mineral Makeup Blog.

I have been in the cosmetic and skin care industry for the past 15 years. I owned a salon/spa for several years and have worked as a makeup artist and nail technition.

I have a passion for Mineral Makeup, skin care and love teaching others application techiques.

I’ve researched this industry and have much to teach you.

If you are struggling with the answers any of the following……this blog is the place for you.

Here is what you will learn

  • The difference between Mineral Makeup and Traditional Makeup
  • The difference between all the Mineral Makeup lines on the market today
  • How to choose the best mineral makeup line for you
  • How to choose the right foundation shade
  • How to apply mineral makeup that makes you look like a pro, in a simple, fast process
  • What colors are best for your skin type, hair and eye color
  • How to clean your brushes
  • and much, much more.

I have packed it full of great training videos, as well as educational content that is designed to teach you and get you the answers that will make the difference in the way you look and feel.

Makeup is fun, simple to learn and apply.  You CAN do this, allow me  to teach you.

Check back often since I put new training content up several times each week.

If you have a topic you want me to discuss or teach on, please drop me a note or make a comment and I will get you the answers and help you need.

Have fun learning and growing.

If you’re new to makeup, follow the training tutorials and give yourself 2 weeks.  Do your makeup like I teach for 14 days, without skipping, and you will be able to apply your makeup in less than 5 minutes.  Just get over that hump that most people quit before they do and you will succeed.

If you have questions or comments, please feel free to bring them to me. I love what I do and want everyone to be able to enjoy makeup as much as I do.

  1. Lisa, thanks so much for your videos! They are very helpful, although I do wish the lighting were a bit stronger. ;-) I’ve looked at other makeup application videos, but found yours to be much simpler and more straightforward.

I would like to see a video showing how to use mineral makeup to disguise under-eye bags. I’m in my mid-50s and this is driving me nuts! My eyes are also a bit hooded, but they’re large and I think I’ve got a decent application for this. I’ll have to play a bit with your crease application technique, as I’m used to taking it farther out to the side.

Again, thanks for the videos. I really appreciate them!

    • Hi Frances,

Thanks for comment and suggestion. I will make a video on this. Sorry about the lightening, this is my bathroom. I will try to make it better for next time.

As for the under eye dark circles ( I have those too!) Use your mineral foundation (yes, that’s right) as a concealer. Put it on a small brush, if you have a small foundation brush, it’s best. Then, just put some in the brush and apply. Try to stay in the inner half of each eye, since we are over 40, too much powder in the outer part of our eyes can stick in the wrinkles and lines.

Make sure you are using a really good eye cream and skin creams first, since these will help to minimize the lines.

Its fun having large eyes, it makes eye shadow application a lot easier and more fun. As for the hooded eye lids, my sister in law is the same way. I’ll address this in a video.

Try putting darker (eye shadow you use in your crease) but bring it up farther on your hood part so it will ‘recede’ the hooded part back. Dark pushes back, light colors highlight or pull forward. Sometimes those with hooded eyelids have a tendency to be ‘all skin’ and that’s not good. Holding your skin out of the way while you apply your makeup and working with it where it lays. Make sure your crease color is UP, not out to the side, that will give you a ‘lifted eye’ appearance.

A great little technique that works wonders for us over 40.

Keep watching, I’m making new videos right now. I just put up a new makeup blog and will be transferring this blog over. I needed one bigger that has a place for more info.

      Thanks again!

      See you on the inside!

  2. Hi Lisa,
I love watching your videos – I am learning so much – Thank You, Thank You.
Is there an order to what to put on? If so could you send it to me – honestly I only wear mascara and lipstick – always afraid to look like heck! I am so excited about Scent-sations coming out with this new line.
    Thanks

    • Yes, there is an order. I will upload it to this site as a blog, plus put it on the forum in the back office of our business forum. Thanks for the kind words. Get excited, this mineral makeup line is very good…you’ll love it.
